Over the weekend, over 1500 festival goers pack Levitt Pavilion (MacArthur Park), in anticipation to see their favorite artists. The crowd size was double the size of the previous years, drawing in audiences from all walks of life.
From little kids sipping fresh agua fresca drinks to elderly ladies dancing to traditional Korean music, KX Festival 2019 had something in store for everyone.
Returning for the fifth year, KX Festival 2019 featured “Wet Hot Dumb Summer” on Saturday, and traditional Korean programs on Sunday. The festival was hosted by content creator Cathy Kim (aka cathythekimchi), and Jun Yu, who will be in the latest “Mulan” film.
Korean hip-hop sensation Dumbfoundead headlined the festival this year. He performed hits like “Hyung” and “Harambe”, as well as crowd favorite “물 Water”. Rekstizzy also joined Dumbfoundead on stage to premiere “K-Pop Single”, their newest song collaboration.
Dumbfoundead also brought his artist friends G-Yamazawa, DJ ZO, Wax, Sahtyre, Rekstizzy, Kero One, Verbs, Azure, Solthewise, Cam Gnarly, and Parlay Pass.
The festival also showcased live art by Miss Jixxii and Lead the Change.
Most importantly, this festival was made FREE to the public, thanks to the generous support from the Levitt Foundation, YTN USA, Y Entertainment, and Jimmy John’s.
