“Innovation is not new to us, in 1904 we have financed the Panama Canal, we were the pioneers in 1977 in bringing ATM in the world, and a lot that signifinies our desire to grow the market at the best way possible,” Citi Philippines CEO Aftab Ahmed said during his opening remarks at the press launch of Citi Mobile App.
“We have this application designed with you (customers and clients) in mind to ensure that it makes you appreciate the value proposition that comes with your card. We are highly commited in expanding our digital responsibilities and capabilities that are relevant to your needs,” Ahmed explained as he introduced Citi Mobile App’s features and functionalities.
With the launch, Citi’s credit card clients in the country can seamlessly manage transactions and other needs digitally from anywhere, any time.
The next generation Citi Mobile App will significantly change the way clients manage their finances through the mobile app.
“We’ve had a long history of doing things, we were the first one to launch mobile banking in the Philippines, and with the Citi Mobile App we will be able to provide customers with the freedom to do more. This is a journey, this is still a step but already the results are already paying well. There are already 60% of our customers have downloaded and utilizing this mobile app,” said Manoj Varma, Consumer Banking Head, Citi Philippines.
Citi is one of the first banks to launch an online presence and also one of the pioneers in attracting customers through its website. In recent years, the bank introduced numerous services including live chat, instant global fund transfers, and pioneering voice biometrics technology allowing customers to be identified through their unique voice print.
