Governor Jonvic Remulla immediately ordered the closure of malls in Cavite following reports that many residents and emoloyees have misused their quarantine and work ID passes and violated social distancing protocol in the aftermath of the General Community Quarantine transition.
The news of mall goers reportedly abusing their quarantine and work ID privileges reached the governor’s office prompting for the immediate filing of resolution among the provincial mayors in Cavite. There are also reports that some restaurant cutomers ordered take-outs and ate them within the mall premises.
Supermarkets and drugstores inside the malls will be closed as well until stricter protocols are implemented in Cavite.
The provincial government recorded a spike of new COVID-19 cases from the period of May 13-17.
